DREAMS DECOMPILED . . .

CONFERENCE . . .

APPLICATIONS OF SCANNING PROBE MIRCOSCOPY AND SPECTROSCOPY

An Initiative of Amity Institute of Nanotechnology, Amity University and the Scanning Probe Microscopy Division, Quazar Technologies.

In Amity Institute of Nanotechnology, NOIDA.

23 rd April 2009

Scanning Probe Microscopy and Spectroscopy have opened out the nano world and given rise to the promise of nanotechnology.

There are a number of researchers working in this area across the NCR. For a field so vast and so open, it is important to bring them all together so that they can explore it collectively and share their vision, ideas and expertise, not to mention all their other resources.

The aim of organizing a conference on the Applications of Scanning Probe Microscopy and Spectroscopy is to bring as many people from different Institutes, University Departments and Colleges in close geographical proximity together, with science and technology as the one and only criterion. Such conferences will aid in promoting the exchange of experience and dissemination of ideas.

This conference is the second one of its kind . The first conference was a resounding success hosting esteemed professors who spoke about topics ranging from the “synthesis of nano-particles” to the “study of magnetic nanostructures”. It was held on February 20 th , 2009 and was attended by about 150 people. The upcoming forum will continue to foster brainstorming sessions and meaningful scientific interaction and fruitful collaborations. We would like each such person, who has anything interesting to report, to speak in one of these conferences. We would like to collectively work on ideas so that the exploration is combined and enriching.

Each conference will be thematic . We will try to place speakers in a conference in which they are closest to their own theme and topic . Each conference can accommodate at most ten speakers.

The current format has two distinct advantages:

•  The venue keeps shifting thereby bringing into focus different Institutes and University Departments and Colleges

•  All students and staff members of each will get to participate in at least 1 conference in their own premises, thereby making it more representative and inclusive.

Participating Institutes:

  • National Physical Laboratory
  • Indian Institute of Technology , Delhi
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University , Delhi
  • Inter University Accelerator Center
  • Amity University
  • Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University
  • Sri Venkateswara College , DU
  • Delhi University
  • SPM Division, Quazar Technologies

The seminar registration is handled online and on phone (kindly request us to send you a detailed programme and registration form ) . Please submit your registration form by 20 April 2009. Please note that the maximum number of delegates will be 50. The number of delegates per institution may therefore be limited. There will be at most 6-8 talks in each conference.
